VARIETAL - FIANO
Drinking this wine had a calming affect on me. During the hustle and bustle of the Holidays, I wanted to choose a white wine that had enough body & dimension to be drank in the winter, but also one that could relocate you mentally - in this case to Italy's Amalfi coast.
This wine is smooth, balanced, and goes down easy! This wine testifies to the estate's dedication to nature; it's a concentrated, intense and organic wine that bursts with the sunny heart of Campania. Only 80 cases of this Fiano make it to the US a year. L'Amore has been featured almost exclusively as a glass pour at Michelin star restaurants in New York City for years.
Wine is not sold in stores - only available to purchase for Savor club members

FIANO TIP:
This southern Italian white is a lot richer and almost waxy texture. This is a white that is known to be age worthy, overtime it will develop teritary aromas of honey and hazelnut. It’s easy to find labeled as Fiano di Avellino from Campania.
NERDY NOTE:
Fiano is also referred to one of the three "archaeological varieties". Fiano thrives in the volcanic soils of Avellino, northeast of Mount Vesuvius, a still-active volcano that erupted violently in A.D. 79, destroying the nearby city of Pompeii (the remains of the city are perfectly preserved). After the eruption, it has been archaeologists mission to preserve the three main grape varieties by studying DNA from grape seeds found in volcanic ash and replant them in Mount Vesuvius with vineyards devoted to these ancient grape varieties.

Pair it with One Pot Creamy Alfredo with Spicy Arugula from Half Baked Harvest & you won't be disappointed!
The winery I Pentri has a clear and simple philosophy. They work completely organically and only use natural products that help the defenses of their vines. They take their motto “the vineyard is the origin of the wine, the cellar is its cradle” quite literally.
Meaning “love of bees,” I Pentri’s “L’Amore delle Api” Fiano testifies to the estate’s dedication to nature.
Deriving from the estate’s scant two acres of Fiano vines, the grapes for this wine ferment with natural yeasts, and the wine ages in large wooden barrels for a year before bottling. ; it’s a concentrated, intense and organic wine that bursts with the sunny heart of Campania.
