La Grosse Pierre Chiroubles Aux Craz
Female winemaker, Pauline Passot, makes extremely expressive traditional and representative wines, in tiny amounts, from old vine Cru vineyards, using classic whole-cluster open carbonic fermentation. She then ages the wines in concrete (the Grille in demi-muids), without filtering, and uses little or no sulfites at bottling. Her wines carry plenty of bright red cherry flavors, married to a medium body with a certain creaminess, along with the freshness that’s traditionally associated with Beaujolais, . She can encapsulate these flavors in spite of the warm vintage due to the high altitude location. This wine has good length and an extremely food-friendly personality. No need to age this bottle any further - I recommend you drink now for best flavor!
